Rolls-Royce Wins Major Framework Contract for Yacht Bridges and Engines

The contract covers 64 mtu 2000 Series 12-cylinder and 16-cylinder engines, totaling 30 propulsion systems including two quad-engine configurations. The mtu NautIQ Bridge is Rolls-Royce’s fully integrated yacht solution, combining bridge control, energy management, and propulsion systems into a unified platform, achieving integrated control from “bridge to propeller”. Nearly all Overmarine yachts are equipped with mtu engines. This collaboration marks the expansion of their partnership from power supply to full-vessel system integration. Gianluca Bononi, Rolls-Royce Italy Managing Director, stated that close coordination ensures precise matching of propulsion, automation, and technical design, making yachts more efficient and comfortable.

Why Selected:

This contract exemplifies the strategic shift of traditional industrial giants toward “full system integration solutions” — merging bridge control with propulsion systems for the first time. It’s a benchmark case of the “one-stop integration” trend in high-end manufacturing, demonstrating how industrial leaders are evolving from component suppliers to complete solution architects.
