Summary :
Microsoft and Proximus NXT, a subsidiary of Belgian telecom operator Proximus, announced a strategic partnership to develop and deploy sovereign cloud solutions for public and private organizations in Belgium and Luxembourg.
The sovereign cloud solution is based on Azure Local’s offline operation mode, allowing organizations to run autonomous cloud environments that can be temporarily or permanently disconnected from the public cloud while retaining Azure core services. This addresses the high demands for data sovereignty, compliance, and business continuity in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and public administration. Proximus NXT has established a test lab in Evere, Belgium, with initial customers including the Belgian federal government and several large financial institutions. Microsoft stated that this partnership will help enterprises meet strict regulatory requirements while enjoying Azure’s advanced technology and global ecosystem.
