Princess Cruises Orders Three €2B+ Voyager Class Megaships, Carnival’s Biggest Fleet Expansion in a Decade

Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation, signed a deal with Italy’s Fincantieri to build three 183,000-gross-ton Voyager Class ships for delivery in 2035, 2038, and 2039, valued at over €2 billion.

Carnival Corporation’s Princess Cruises brand announced its largest-ever newbuild order with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. Each Voyager Class vessel will accommodate approximately 4,700 guests, making them the biggest ships in the Princess fleet. Built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard, the ships will feature dual-fuel LNG propulsion to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, continuing the green technology platform introduced on Sun Princess and Star Princess. President Gus Antorcha emphasized research-driven innovations across dining, entertainment, and pool environments designed to attract next-generation cruisers. This brings Carnival Corporation’s total LNG-powered ship orders to 21 vessels.

Why Selected:€2B+ shipbuilding mega-order reveals booming post-pandemic cruise demand and the industry’s pivot to green LNG propulsion at scale.
