On June 3, the 27th BroadcastAsia 2022 (hereinafter referred to as BA2022) held at Singapore EXPO came to a successful conclusion. ‘China (Beijing) Online Pavilion’(hereinafter referred to as the Online Pavilion), comprising 21 broadcasting technology enterprises from Beijing and Tianjin, made a great splash at BA2022 online exhibition.

In the face of the current severe and complex situation of epidemic prevention and control, in order to build a solid barrier for epidemic prevention and control while stabilizing the economy and to efficiently co-ordinate epidemic prevention and control with the development of industry enterprises, Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, through the BA2022 online pavilion, has pushed the ‘Made in China’ of the broadcasting industry to the world stage while giving the world more opportunities to see Chinese broadcasting technology enterprises through the perspective of development.

‘The high-quality development of the broadcasting technology industry requires the integration of different innovative elements, the crossover of different disciplines, the sharing of knowledge and information, the interaction between academia and the market, the international cooperation, collision and exchange among multiple cultures.’Wang Jiequn, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Director General of Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, said during a video exchange with the head of the BA2022 Organizing Committee on the first day of the exhibition, ‘Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau attaches great importance to international communication capacity building and takes the initiative to enhance international communication capabilities. Taking branded activities as a grip, we have made full use of a variety of foreign exchange channels and event platforms, both domestic and international, within and outside the industry, as well as government and private sectors, to continuously accelerate the pace of ‘going global’ for Beijing’s broadcasting technology enterprises. Last year, we participated in BA2022 for the first time in an online format, and this year is the second time we have participated online. We hope to promote China’s excellent technologies and products to Southeast Asian countries and regions and beyond through the international platform of BA2022, and work together with our Singapore counterparts to exchange ideas and seek common development.’

China (Beijing) Online Theme Pavilion established at the official BA2022 website consists of 21 broadcasting technology enterprises from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei regions. As the organizer, Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau set up an online communication platform for exhibitors and industry visitors through a series of rich online activities such as product showcase, live streaming, media promotion, cloud signing and interactive exhibition viewing, highlighting more than 40 products and technical solutions in technology areas such as video and audio codec, ultra-high definition storage, intelligent filming, virtual reality, motion capture and information security.

During the online exhibition, in addition to the management and transmission products with independent intellectual property rights, high attention was also paid much to the program director call equipment and systems, virtual studio system, ViCave XR virtual production system and ‘Metauch’ production system based on metaverse technology, 8K technology in 4K and HD production and broadcasting environments, as well as other production and broadcasting products and solutions.

By the end of the event on June 3, the total number of visitors to China (Beijing) Online Pavilion exceeded 400,000, with a 769% increase in visitor traffic compared to last year, and a peak of 28,000 visits to individual enterprises’ live streaming rooms. The expected intended purchase amount was about 16.5 million U.S. dollars, equivalent to about 110 million yuan, an increase of 10% compared to last year.
